Export for LMS

Content can be exported as a ZIP file that can then be imported into various learning management systems (LMS).

To export a question set or test for use with an LMS:

1. Open a question set or test by dragging it to the editor pane.

2. Choose Export from the File menu.

3. Select the destination LMS.
   Note: Canvas, Brightspace, and Moodle are not supported platforms. You can use the following formats to import content into these LMSs; however, certain question types or functionality may not be supported in these platforms.

   LMS	Export Option
   Angel	Angel 7.1+
   Blackboard	Blackboard Learn. You can choose whether to export the question set/test as a pool or a test.  If you are exporting for Blackboard Ultra, you should always export the set/test as a pool.
   Respondus	Respondus 3.5+
   Canvas	If you're importing using the Import Existing Content option, use: QTI for Canvas > Classic Quizzes and Question Banks If you're importing from the Items Banks page, use: QTI > New Quizzes and Item Banks. Note: Canvas' Item Banks/New Quizzes feature is currently under active development. The effectiveness of these exports may vary without notice as Canvas makes changes to the functionality.
   Brightspace (D2L)	Blackboard Learn
   Moodle	Blackboard for Moodle

4.  A ZIP file will be saved to your local computer. Follow the instructions provided by the LMS to import the questions into that LMS.  Do not unzip the exported file.

Multi-blank questions

How multi-blank questions are treated in other XML formats and by LMSs vary based on whether individual answer groups are inserted into a question once or multiple times. The table below summarizes how multi-blank questions are handled by supported platforms and formats.

HTML5, drag-and-drop, and bin sort questions

HTML5, drag-and-drop, and bin sort questions are excluded from LMS exports.
