Import Cognero XML

A Cognero XML file is a text file saved locally on your computer that contains all of the information for a question set or test. You can create XML files from your own content to share that content with other users.

To import a Cognero XML file:

1. Close any question set or test that is open in the right pane.

2. (Instructors only) To import the XML file as a new question set or test, right-click the folder in the question sets pane or tests pane where you want to import the XML file.

3. To import the XML file into an existing question set or test, right-click the question set or test in the question sets pane or tests pane where you want to import the XML file.

4. From the Options menu, choose Import  and then choose Cognero XML.

5. Click Choose File or Browse and navigate to the Cognero XML file you want to import.

6. Click Upload.
   
   The XML file is uploaded to the server and then imported into the question database. Depending on the size of the XML file, this may take several minutes.

7. Read the information in the Import log box for details about the imported questions.

8. Click Done.
    

Note: Cognero XML files that were created from publisher-provided content include digital rights management. Only instructors who are authorized to use the content will be able to import the Cognero XML file.
